Convo Nite

It's convo nite. All the 1st years r compulsory 2 attend de dinner. U paid rm35 for it.

U were asked 2 participate in performance on tat nite. Ok, it's not a big deal, u can handle it. Somebody informed u tat tonight u guys hv 2 practise for tat. It's at 8pm. U reached there at 8.30 n u noe it's already late. Later, u found out tat there're still performers which hv not appear all this while. And u cant say anything because u were late too. Fine.

Practice starts. Out of no reason, somebody suddenly asked u 2 change ur steps. U wonder y bcoz u're practising de same steps since last week. Is it bcoz de steps u choose not nice? Then y din they juz be frankly n spoke it out last week? N actually u're doing solo, which u dance alone. Nobody will or can ever affect ur dance n vice versa. U got so stressed up bcoz of de changes being asked. N nobody cares bout ur feelings. N of course that somebody.

2 days b4 de performance. U asked for a proper chinese fan 2 be used in de dance. Somebody said they can even get 2 for u in case u need 2. Performance eve. Things came out 2 be very tough. They said that the main campus bayu is going 2 use all de fans n they cant even get one 4 u. Last nite they said can make it 2. Now 0. N somebody asked u 2 find by urself. Then some-other-body suggested u 2 use de ceiling fan. N some even said change it 2 "light dance". N u r not local ppl, u dun even noe where can u find a shop selling ordinary fan, n they some more expect u 2 come out with ur own chinese traditional fan. Understanding?

On tat night. All de performers anxiously got themselves dressed up n u urself as well. Later bayu ppl came n distributed all de accessories 4 different ethnic groups representatives. All hv got almost complete set. Except u, wearing only de not-so-chinese-like so-called chinese traditional costume only. Wut 2 do? U're already involved n u're like given a responsibility 2 not let ur own ethnic group down. Well, there r still somebody out there which r caring n considering enough 2 notice ur problem n ur intraself conflict. Tat somebody tried 2 help u 2 get some proper accessories but wut u get is a flower-attached rubber hair band which were given 2 u bcoz nobody is using that. Whereas others got their full set attires. Was it some kind of discrimination?

N u r given only about 20 minutes 2 think of new steps due 2 de failure 2 get urself a proper chinese traditional fan. Somebody suggested that u use ribbon instead. He/She tot that that kind of ribbon very easy 2 be found n those steps can be created so fast. They required 4 a nearly pro performance. N they asked u 2 hv confidence, with that 20 min 4 u 2 create n practise n perform. They think u r genius, god of dance. N u dun even like de music being used.

This is de 1st time that u ever hate 2 put up a performance. Although u're juz participating in a small portion of de whole performance. Mal-practice, mal-caring, mal-understanding, "mal-costume".

Some said de performance was great. But u noe it very well. For u, its not even can be graded as B-. Mayb u're juz judging ur own part. Mayb others r meaning de overall presentation. But u r absolutely, extremely unhappy with it.

Let's talk about de hotel now. U noticed that de toilet is locked. U hv never came across a hotel where de toilet is locked. Wonder wut so unique about de toilet that give them a reason 2 keep it locked. Well, surprisingly its juz an ordinary toilet. Even ur faculty's toilet is better than that. Nobody is going 2 steal anything from that toilet. N neither anybody wanna vandalise it. So y lock it?

Remember that u've paid rm35 for de function. Seniors told u that last year they paid rm25 only, for a dinner at hilton. De dining hall is so small n u start thinking how could it fit all de graduants n 1st years n de lecturers n some graduants' parents n de workers in. But yet, they make it possible, by squeezing all de tables n chairs so packed tat making ppl's movements being so restricted. Ppl recieving awards took at least 2 minutes 2 squeeze themselves through those closely arranged tables n chairs 2 get up on de stage. N u paid rm35 for that.

U're served with salted prawns which dehydrate ur lips, steamed fish that is so fishy-smelled n yong chew fried rice that is so shit that u tot de chef forgot 2 put salt in it. De service provided is damn shit. Ur plate n spoon n chopsticks were sent back 2 de kitchen without any replacement of new plate, spoon n chopsticks. N they straight away serve u with de fried rice, expecting u 2 eat it using ur fingers. N wut u paid 4 such service is rm35.

For those lucky stars in de lucky draw, they r very lucky bcoz they've gain more than wut they've paid. De rest, thanks for ur contribution. N u r doing a charity, by both performing n donating.

There's one of ur friend tat should be getting academic award that night. But she'd made a smart choice by not attending. Heard that she was required 2 pay rm50 to get herself a ticket in de 1st place. Y dun they juz go n rob? Bcoz robbing is a crime, while this kind of nicely-wrapped robbery is ok.

By de way, is this really a graduation dinner for future doctors? Even ur form5 graduation dinner is 100times far more better than that. For those who'd enjoy de night very much, u're very vulnerable 2 be cheated by others. That's convo nite! Enjoy n hv fun?

Rm35 is not a big sum. But u paid rm35 n wut u got is unhappiness, that's really a big problem. Mayb its bcoz ur own point of view n ur ways 2 sort out things deviate from others'. Hope u can get well soon. Cheer cheer up!! Can u?
